Did you ever want an excuse to walk through Portland’s most inspiring offices — the ones you see winning design awards in magazines? On Thursday, Oct. 29, from 5 to 8 p.m., the city’s most innovative creative work spaces will be open to the public for a rare one-night glimpse. The tour includes architecture firms such as Zimmer Gunsul Frasca, BOORA, Holst and Vallaster Corl. It includes the work spaces of creative firms such as NORTH and Ziba Design. And it includes the new Mercy Corps headquarters and the new bSide6 building. Each firm is hosting its own site, and some will be offering refreshments. Tickets are $30, and all proceeds will go to the Center for Architecture and the Street of Eames Fund, which pays for two after-school programs for homeless elementary school students.
