Speed Vest

September 18th, 2008

Brady Clark and Mykle Hansen created a vest that lets bicycle riders show off how fast they’re pedaling:

How does the vest work?
In a nutshell, it uses a sensor on your wheel to send a signal to a microcontroller that then turns the numbers on and off on the vest. Take a look.

I don’t know who made www.whatgoogleknows.com or what it is all about. But it made me look and click for a while. Anyone have any insights?

Foos Gold at Right Brain

About a year ago I bought a foosball table for the office. We used it for a while but like most children, we became bored with it and Jesse was so good no one could EVER beat him! So we posted it on Craigslist and sure enough we got a buyer, Steve, a wind surfer from Hood River with a deep love of the “sport”.

Upon arrival Steve went to work taking apart the table to be moved (it’s very heavy) and while disassembling one of the legs, out fell a large, old, very dry bulb of marijuana. Steve quickly grabbed the illegal substance pinched it between his fingers and said “Aww-it’s too old and dry”. “Too old and dry for what?” I thought.

After disposing of the contraband we went back to disassembling the other legs making jokes about what else we may find. A kilo of coke? Escobar‘s passport perhaps? But the best part for me was when Steve was removing the last leg he asked “So what kind of business is this anyway?” Priceless.
